Bijou Custom Spaces · Austin, TX

Wine cellars built
for Texas heat.

Conditioned cellars and wine rooms, engineered and built in-house by our Custom Spaces division. Climate first, racking second, and a room your collection deserves.

Three Ways In

Pick the cellar that fits the house.

Reach-In Cellars

From the low $40Ks

A fully conditioned glass-front cellar built into a kitchen, dining, or bar wall. Premium racking, concealed ducted cooling, stone counters, and lighting that makes the labels the art.

Walk-In Cellars

Scaled to bottle count

Room-scale cellars from several hundred to several thousand bottles. Cooling cost is nearly fixed, so larger cellars deliver better cost per bottle. Glass walls, custom millwork, tasting counters.

Whole-Room Conversions

Quoted after the site walk

Turn a study, closet run, or under-stair volume into conditioned storage. We handle the vapor barrier, insulation, and split-system engineering that make a cellar last in a Texas climate.

The Difference

Where cellars are won and lost.

Climate engineering first

A cellar that fails does it behind the wall: condensation, vapor drive, undersized cooling. We engineer the envelope before we talk racking, because Texas summers do not forgive shortcuts.

Racking that fits your collection

Label-forward metal, classic wood, or a curated blend. Bottle counts, formats, and depth configurations planned around how you actually buy and drink, not a catalog default.

Glass done right

Thermal glass, proper door engineering, and access planned so service does not mean disassembly. Multiple doors when the glass runs close to the racking.

Part of a bigger build

Most of our cellars are born inside remodels and custom homes, designed with the kitchen and entertaining flow instead of squeezed in after. One builder, one standard.

Asked Often

Wine cellar questions, answered.

What does a custom wine cellar cost in Austin?

A fully conditioned reach-in cellar with premium racking and concealed cooling starts in the low $40,000s with Bijou Builds. Walk-in cellars scale from there with bottle count, glass, wood species, and finishes. Cooling is nearly a fixed cost, so cost per bottle improves as the cellar grows.

Can you build a wine cellar in an existing home?

Yes. Whole-room conversions and reach-in installations in existing homes are core Custom Spaces work. The critical part is the envelope: vapor barrier, insulation, and correctly sized cooling engineered for the Texas climate before any racking goes in.

How long does a wine cellar take to build?

A reach-in cellar typically runs 6 to 10 weeks from approved design. Walk-in cellars and room conversions run longer depending on structural work and glass lead times. We give you a real schedule at the site walk.

Do you design the cellar or just build it?

Both, under one roof. Bijou Custom Spaces handles design, climate engineering, racking layout, glass, lighting, and construction, so nothing gets handed off or lost between trades.
